Impeccably bred, Artstanding is the son of the great Artsplace and the Western Hanover mare Jasmine Hanover, half sister to World Champion Jaguar Spur. She has also produced major stakes winner and World Champion Little Miss Dragon.
Artstanding is a strapping physical presence, standing at 15.2 hands and bearing an uncanny resemblance to his father, Artsplace. His bloodline is proven to produce early speed. He masterfully handled every size track at 2 and 3, never took a bad step, and in only 20 career starts earned over $600,000. That's over $30,000 per start!
Artstanding faced stiff competition during his racing career, taking on perhaps the strongest pacing class ever. There are an unprecedented 6 millionaires and counting from the class. There are already 7 from that class to retire to stud. The strength of competition Artstanding faced was never more evident than in 2007, when the normally difficult jump from 3 to aged was handled easily by his contemporaries, such as Shark Gesture, Artistic Fella, and Mister Big, who dominated the division. Jereme's Jet and Western Ace were also setting records, and many others had great success in the grand circuit open ranks. At 2, facing and beating the vast majority of his competition, Artstanding established himself as one of the most consistent performers of the 2005, garnering votes in the Hambletonian/Breeder's Crown Standardbred Poll for Horse of the Year.
Through his career, Artstanding overcame bad racing luck and poor draws to earn a paycheck in an amazing 17 of 20 starts. He raced over every size track, off the pace, on the front end, over fast tracks and over mud, and the result was always the same - Artstanding was never out of a race. Beautifully gated, versatile, fast, and most importantly, strong willed - traits Artstanding will undoubtedly pass on through his progeny. Silver Linden Farm proudly presents Artstanding.
